The Powermonkey eXplorer solar battery charger is meant specifically to charge your mobile electronic devices, and even will charge PDAs and portable game devises. It’s very compact, weighing just 1.4 pounds and folding easily to cut its size in half and protect the solar panels, but it still has a hard shell that will keep it safe in your suitcase or purse.
It comes with a unique LED display which gives you all the necessary information you need to see that the charger is fully charged. What’s nice about the Powermonkey eXplorer is that it has an internal rechargeable lithium battery, meaning that the device charges itself, and then releases its own charge into your portable electronic devices when you want. Because of this, it’s easy to simply leave it in the sun or by a window and let it charge on its own. Then you can simply take it with you and you basically have a backup battery for all of your devices. Although it’s meant to be charged in the sun, its internal battery can also be charged by plugging it in to a standard wall outlet if you need a quick charge in the evening.
